Photosynthesis
The metabolic process by which plants, algae, and some bacteria use light energy to build sugars from carbon dioxide and water, releasing oxygen.
Some sea slugs eat algae and keep the stolen chloroplast inside their own cells. The borrowed chloroplasts can keep doing photosynthesis for weeks or months, giving the animal a temporary solar battery.
