University of Oxford
The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university in Oxford, Britain, composed of self-governing colleges. Its exact founding date is unknown, but teaching is documented there as early as 1096.
Oxford is older than the Aztec Empire. The earliest record of teaching at Oxford dates to 1096; the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan was founded in 1325. We call the Aztecs an 'ancient' civilization, yet it began only when Oxford was already over two centuries old.
