Rain

The earthy smell after rain has a name: Petrichor. Its core is Geosmin, a molecule from soil Microorganisms that the human nose catches at just 5 parts per trillion—said to beat a shark smelling blood in water. Perhaps a trace of ancestors who sniffed out water on dry land.

In 1876, fresh meat chunks rained from a clear Kentucky sky in the USA. Those brave enough to taste them reported flavors similar to lamb or venison.

In Yoro, Honduras, fish rain has been falling from the sky for over 100 years. Since 1998, locals have celebrated with an annual "Festival de lluvia de peces" (Fish Rain Festival).
