Snail
A gastropod mollusk that carries a spiral shell on its back, with species living on land as well as in fresh water and the sea.
When drought or harsh cold sets in, some snails seal their shell with a hardened mucus membrane called an epiphragm and stay dormant up to three years, halting metabolism to conserve moisture. Their normal sleep is odd too: 12-14 hours asleep, up to 41 hours awake per cycle.
