Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte contained no real pumpkin for 12 years after its 2003 debut — its flavor came only from cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Only after customer backlash did Starbucks add real kabocha pumpkin puree, about 2%, starting in 2015.
