The condition in which a person's private sphere and information are protected from intrusion or disclosure by others, and the right to claim that protection. Many countries guarantee it by constitution or statute.
In 2003, Barbra Streisand sued to remove an aerial photo of her Malibu home from the Internet, calling it a Privacy issue. Before the Lawsuit, it had only 6 views; after news spread, 420,000 people saw it within a month. Trying to hide information can make it far more visible.
