Oreo
A sandwich cookie brand first sold in the United States in 1912, made of white creme between two dark cocoa wafers. It is now owned by Mondelez International.
Oreo's 'Double Stuf' doesn't actually have double the creme. In 2013, American high school students weighed the cookies and calculated the filling was only about 1.86 times the original—a ratio later confirmed by independent re-tests. The maker still insists it's exactly double.

Oreo creme sticks to the same wafer about 80% of the time, however you twist it. MIT engineers twisted 1,000+ cookies in 2022 and traced the cause to manufacturing, not habit: on the line, creme lands on the first wafer before the second is added, giving it extra bonding time.
