Oreo creme sticks to the same wafer about 80% of the time, however you twist it. MIT engineers twisted 1,000+ cookies in 2022 and traced the cause to manufacturing, not habit: on the line, creme lands on the first wafer before the second is added, giving it extra bonding time.
