A video game series developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, as well as the name of its protagonist. Kirby is known for a round pink appearance and the ability to inhale enemies and copy their powers.
Nintendo's Kirby was pink from the very start, but when Kirby's Dream Land launched in North America in 1992, staff copied his grayscale Game Boy sprite literally and drew him white. For years, North American box art, manuals, and ads all showed a white Kirby.
