Fraud
The act of deceiving others in order to obtain property or advantage. It is defined as a crime in most legal systems, and its core element is distorting another's judgment with false information.
From 1989 to 2001, almost every high-value winner of McDonald's' 'Monopoly' game was fake. The contractor's security chief stole pieces and sold them through a network of mobsters, psychics and others. The FBI arrested him in 2001; over 50 people were later convicted of fraud.
