The only group of mammals capable of powered flight, with forelimbs modified into wings; most navigate in darkness using ultrasonic echolocation.
Some moths fight back against bats with ultrasonic clicks. A 2009 Science study found tiger moths emit rapid clicks as a bat closes in, jamming echolocation and skewing distance estimates. This is part of a long evolutionary arms race between bats and moths.
